I Am Back From Holidays

I am back!

I was away for a long needed holiday to Malaysia. It has been about 4 years since I went back. The last trip was in 2019. And soon after that it was COVID-19!! I normally visit Malaysia every 2 years or so. So this time is a long awaited trip.

I made it there finally. And this time, I visited Indonesia – Medan and Lake Toba and Vietnam as well.

This trip coincides with Chinese New  Year. I finally get to spend time with my Family and meet up with old friends.

I notice we are all getting older and much ‘milder’ in our outlook, and we tend to form friendships with people whom are of the same feathers. No more putting up with people who irritate us. Or it can be said that we are at peace with all the people we choose to be with. This is a good thing. It is a blessing to have great family members and long lasting friends who accept you as you are.

Enough of reminiscence.

Purpose of my trip

So, my trip is to celebrate Chinese New Year and my intension is to video family preparing food for the occasion. It turns out that most of us or the family are a bit ‘over-extended’ by the lockdown, or known as MCO (movement control order). During this time, many family members need to cook, as the shops are closed. So suddenly, there is  home-cooked meals almost everyday!.

Because of that, we are now eating out for Chinese New Year. Furthermore we have Muslim family members, so eating out turns out to be the best solution.

Before I get side tracked, here is what happen on my flight from London to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

My meal on Singapore Airlines (SIA)

The first meal, I have cod. This is a western meal as it is flying out from London to the far east.

Here is my feedback:

The 2nd meal, we have Chicken Rendang. Hmm I am intrigue and I want to compare my home-made rendang with this.

Here is my take on it.

Chicken rendang meal served on board SIA. Is mine more tasty?
This is the SIA version of chicken rendang. How is this compared by mine?

Oh, I currently do not do Business class nor First class, so the food serve is not so upmarket. Well, I am just an ordinary folk who loves food.

The SIA flight is without hitches and the service is efficient. No complaints is the best for customer service.

I reach my destination in Singapore.

I will tell you more stories when I get to Kuala Lumpur.

In the meantime, do enjoy the videos. There are loads more. I will make the travel videos into #shorts, where possible, and my recipes as long form videos.

Until then, happy eating.
